The Best View of the U.S. Food Industry
Each May, top food industry executives from around the world gather in Chicago for the U.S. Food Export Showcase and the Food Marketing Institute's annual International Supermarket Industry Convention and Educational Exposition. The attendee list from this world-renowned event reads like a who's who of the food distribution industry. From large to small, retailer or wholesaler, those with an eye towards the future attend this show for the new products they'll see, the news they'll hear, and the contacts they'll make.
The educational portion of the program offers valuable insight into a wide range of food industry topics. This is where you'll learn how to make the most of the products you see on the exhibit floor. Major research studies, consumer trends, merchandising ideas, marketing approaches-as well as a full range of export issues-are all covered in educational seminars at the show. Plan now to join your colleagues from around the world and across the U.S. for the food industry's premier event--The Best View of the U.S. Food Industry.
In 1991, the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) joined forces to create a food exposition second to none. The FMI Show and NASDA's U.S. Food Export Showcase truly complement one another and offer international buyers the broadest view of food products from across the United States. The FMI exhibit floor includes the biggest names in the business offering tried-and-true products, as well as exciting new items. The U.S. Food Export Showcase in many ways resembles a Hall of States. Four hundred companies exhibit their products, many in state pavilions, that capture their state's unique heritage and character.
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), works to promote the export of U.S. agricultural products and reports on agricultural production and market development in all areas of the world. FAS considers the Showcase a valuable tool in promoting U.S. products abroad and therefore has made exhibitors eligible for partial reimbursement of expenses. The U.S. Food Export Showcase is filled with small to medium-size manufacturers of high-quality, export-ready products who are actively pursuing international markets. Exhibitors include manufacturers of beverages, grocery products, bakery goods, health foods, confectionery, dairy products, meats and by-products, poultry, dried and fresh fruits, seafood, snack foods, pet foods, frozen foods and gourmet foods. There is no other food show or fair that offers the depth and breadth of the FMI Supermarket Industry Convention and Educational Exposition featuring NASDA's U.S. Food Export Showcase.
